Description:

As of June 2019, Feather Lover Farms is offering day-old chicks of our new and very rare Lavender Wyandotte's. Our Lavender Wyandotte's are from some of the finest show and exhibition stock you'll find in the US.

The Wyandotte chicken breed has been around in the United States since the late 1800's, however the new Lavender color was recently created with this breed in the 21st century and is virtually impossible to find. Our new bloodline is due to the amazing genetic work of Allan Broker. Allen spent more than 10 years infusing the lavender color into his large fowl Wyandotte chickens. He continued to do this until the Wyandotte's became some of the most convincing show quality Wyandotte's America has seen. Even the baby chicks from our new line seem more deep in lavender color than any other lavender chickens we have worked with. Our adult Lavender Wyandotte breeding stock have a rich and smooth lavender color with bright yellow legs and a a deep red comb, giving them a beautiful striking appearance. The very friendly Lavender Wyandotte hens, once matured, will lay lots of beautiful cream-colored eggs for you. The roosters are just as friendly and docile as the hens with this breed and tend to flourish whether in a coop or free ranging. Most of our breeding stock is unrelated and give us amazing hatch rates each week so you should be able to breed your Lavender Wyandotte from us without issue. If you like big Orpington chickens then you'll love our Lavender Wyandotte's!

Feather Lover Farms is proud to offer unsexed day-old chicks of these gorgeous Lavender Wyandotte's and look forward to helping preserve them by spreading them into backyard chicken coops across the US!

Quick Chick FAQs:

Straight Run Chicks: Straight Run Chicks are un-sexed, randomly selected and each chick has a 50/50 chance of being a male or female.

Shipping: You will receive an automatic email and text message when your chicks ship along with tracking info. Chicks usually arrive in the morning 1-2 days later and your local Post Office will call you for pickup. Chicks are never delivered to your home address, even if you used a home address for your shipping address.

What I Need: Everything you need can usually be purchased at your local feed store. Chick starter feed, waterer, brooder (cardboard box, plastic storage bin, bathtub, or even a kiddie pool are popular), pine shavings, thermometer and a heat lamp or heat source. Baby chicks require heat of about 95 degrees their first week of life. Second week you can lower the temperature to 90 degrees and so on with every week going down 5 degrees until 6-8 weeks old or when they are ready to go "outside".

How Do My Chicks Survive Shipment?: Baby chicks do not need food or water for the first 72 hours of life. Ingesting their yolk sac gives them the nutrition they need to survive the journey from Feather Lover Farm's hatching facility to you! Shipping day-old chicks helps ensure a safe arrival since they will usually be just 2 days old when you receive them. Our packaging is professional with a brand new chick shipping box, nesting material and warm long lasting heat packs depending on the time of the year. Your chicks will look like they just hatched out of a nest when you open the box and jump into your arms, thinking you are their mother hen!
