Aloha! Hawaii anyone? The Hawaiian Chicken of Kauai is ready to bring a tropical paradise into your backyard!
Our greatest import yet! Feather Lover Farms is proud to be the first and only source to legally import the Hawaiian Chicken of Kauai into the mainland of the United States for your enjoyment.
If you've ever traveled to the Hawaiian island of Kauai or Maui, you probably have been fascinated by the beautifully colored chickens roaming everywhere! Whether it's first checking into your hotel or walking the beautiful white sandy beaches, you can't miss them! The question you're wondering is, where did they all come from?
The Hawaiian Chicken of Kauai or Maui is deeply rooted over 1,000 years ago when Polynesian settlers first brought Wild Red Jungle Fowl chickens onto the island. Many years later, Hurricane Iwa (1982) and Hurricane Iniki (1992) destroyed many backyard chicken coops, releasing the domestic chickens into the wild and allowing the Polynesian's Wild Red Jungle Fowl to breed with them and created what we have today. With no real natural predators on the island of Kauai, the Hawaiian chickens have thrived and populated in great numbers. Having the Spirit of Aloha, they are some of the brightest colored and most beautifully elegant chickens in the world. They can be seen in a variety of color patterns with most being the black breasted red variety with blue, green or yellow legs. The hens tend to lay medium sized eggs and are excellent mothers. Though they obviously love roaming and foraging, they can be confined in a chicken coop and don't require any special care.
Made with Aloha, our Hawaiian Chicken baby chicks will bring a piece of paradise home to you! Order yours today!

Shipping: You will receive an automatic email and text message when your chicks ship along with tracking info. Chicks usually arrive in the morning 1-2 days later and your local Post Office will call you for pickup. Chicks are never delivered to your home address, even if you used a home address for your shipping address.
What I Need:Everything you need can usually be purchased at your local feed store. Chick starter feed, waterer, brooder (cardboard box, plastic storage bin, bathtub, or even a kiddie pool are popular), pine shavings, thermometer and a heat lamp or heat source. Baby chicks require heat of about 95 degrees their first week of life. Second week you can lower the temperature to 90 degrees and so on with every week going down 5 degrees until 6-8 weeks old or when they are ready to go "outside".
How Do My Chicks Survive Shipment?:Baby chicks do not need food or water for the first 72 hours of life. Ingesting their yolk sac gives them the nutrition they need to survive the journey from Feather Lover Farm's hatching facility to you! Shipping day-old chicks helps ensure a safe arrival since they will usually be just 2 days old when you receive them. Our packaging is professional with a brand new chick shipping box, nesting material and warm long lasting heat packs depending on the time of the year. Your chicks will look like they just hatched out of a nest when you open the box and jump into your arms, thinking you are their mother hen!
